Robin Roberts is headed to the hospital for her bone marrow transplant procedure.

The "Good Morning America" co-host bid farewell on Twitter on Monday morning. "My last tweet for awhile. Heading to hospital...time to focus on healing. I take each & every one of you w/me in my heart. Light and love," she wrote.

She also posted a picture of herself with a shaved head and a photo of her parents on Facebook. "Holding a picture of my two guardian angels..mom and dad," she wrote. "Grateful to those who have shared their stories with me. As momma use to say: 'We all got somethin'!' Lifting you up as you have for me...This too shall pass. Oh, by the way, as my friend India.Arie sings...I am NOT my hair. Onward and looking upward."

Roberts revealed that she was diagnosed with MDS, a rare blood and bone-marrow disorder, in June. She will be receiving a bone marrow transplant from her sister Sally.

She spent Sunday night at home with her "GMA" colleagues. “Shhhhhh...don’t tell my doctors I’m up late w/ @GMA fam before I go to hospital in the AM," she tweeted, after writing, "We are family...@GMA family w/@JoshElliottABC at my apt giving me a send off to remember."

Her treatment is expected to last several months. Roberts has said that she will spend a few days in the hospital before the actual transplant.

She was scheduled to enter the hospital last week, but postponed the procedure after her mother Lucimarian passed away. She left "GMA" one day ahead of her intended medical leave to see her mother in Mississippi, and was with her when she died.

Roberts returned to New York last Thursday, and rested in preparation for her treatment.
