Robin Thicke Is Trying Really Hard To Get Paula Patton Back

Jeesh, Robin Thicke Is Trying Really Hard To Get Paula Patton Back

It's becoming painfully obvious that Robin Thicke wants his estranged wife Paula Patton back. After the couple first announced their split in February, Thicke has taken to grand gestures in public arenas to "get [his] girl back." The 2014 Billboard Music Awards on May 19 was no exception.

While picking up the award for Top R&B song for his monster hit, "Blurred Lines," the 37-year-old pointedly thanked Patton, saying, "Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support and for putting up with me all these years."

Later in the evening, Thicke performed his new song, "Get Her Back," a literal plea to win Patton over again. In case you had any doubt that the word "literal" is misused here, check out these lyrics:

"I never should've raised my voice or made you feel so small/ I never should've asked you to do anything at all/ I should've kissed you longer, I should've held you stronger/And I'll wait for forever for you to love me again."

The estranged couple began dating in high school and were married for nearly nine years before announcing their split on Feb. 24. Patton has remained relatively quiet since the breakup, though she did share a cryptic message with her followers on Feb. 28. On her Instagram account, which has since been deleted, Patton posted a quote that read: "If you love something let it go, If it comes back to you it's yours, If it doesn't, it never was, and it's not meant to be."

Well, Thicke certainly seems to be coming back to Patton, so the ball is in her court.
