The "Blurred Lines" singer discussed his controversial VMA performance with Oprah Winfrey for a segment of "Oprah's Next Chapter" (set to air this Sunday on OWN), and declined to take the heat off Cyrus. "Listen, I'm the twerkee. I'm twerked upon," he said.

The R&B crooner also confessed Miley's antics went over his head.

"I was on stage. I didn't see it. So to me, I'm walking out towards Miley [and] I'm not thinking sex. I'm thinking fun, you know? I mean her and I don't have that kind of ... you have to remember, I'm singing my butt off. I'm sitting there. I'm looking up at the sky, and I'm not really paying attention to all that."

Which isn't to say Thicke was surprised by Cyrus' performance. "They told me [beforehand] that Miley's going to take her clothes off and dance around and she might bend over," he told Vanity Fair in a recent interview. "I just said, 'I don't care, let's entertain the people. Let's give them something they're not ready for, let's make them talk.'"
