Watch The Viral Video Of The 2013 Robocop Remake

Here at Security Concepts, we're predicting the end of crime in Old Detroit within 40 days.

The new "RoboCop movie" (which, according to rumors, will shoot some scenes in the Motor City) won't arrive in theaters until August 2013. But designs of the flick's beastly new crime-fighting machines in Jose Padilha's remake are going viral.

There's a new guy in town. And it's not the same "RoboCop" you remember on big screens.

The original 1987 "RoboCop," directed by Paul Verhoeven, imagined the city's crime-fighting mechanical hero as a Judge Dredd-style masked warrior, played by Peter Weller.

But according to The Guardian, the costume will show viewers a whole new side of the crime-fighting police officer, portrayed in the remake by Joel Kinneman.

"It's not going to be jaw action," Kinneman said. "They're still working on the suit and how it's going to look, but the visor is going to be see-through. You're going to see his eyes."

Continue with the ED-209, which couldn't get down the stairs in the original flick. Those clunky machines have been re-imagined as sleek, ruthless metal insects.

Some film critics speculate that the ED-209 and "RoboCop," which faced off as enemies in the original, may fight on the same side in the 2013 remake.

Marketers for Sony Pictures have even created a new OmniCorp website (not to be confused with the Eastern Market hacker space). The purposefully bland security conglomerate is debuting its new line of municipal defense products.

"Battlefield tested," blares the slogan. "Available to protect your city now."

And a box on the website reassures viewers that "community outreach and organ donation programs" are available on the horizon for Detroiters. The fake sales video offers a whole host of OmniCorp-approved products that will hopefully appear on movie screens next summer.

The new "RoboCop" will also star Abbie Cornish, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman as the twisted scientist who engineers RoboCop and Hugh Laurie as the OmniCorp CEO. The picture has a budget of $100 million and has already confirmed Toronto as another location.
