Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame To Celebrate 25th Anniversary With Two Huge Concerts

A full roster of music legends will help the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrate its silver anniversary with two sweeping concerts in Madison Square Garden in October.

The lineup is: Bruce Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Friends, who will perform on October 29 and U2, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin and Metallica on October 30. The shows will be broadcast on network television two weeks later.

"The acts have been chosen to give the shows heft and a range of balance," said Jann Wenner, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and founder of Rolling Stone. "They'll survey the history of rock and roll in a moving way. People will be singing their favorite hits and they'll also be paying tribute to other artists."

Not among the Hall of Fame inductees offering up a performance: the band Wenner's magazine is named after. When asked why the Rolling Stones weren't slated, Wenner joked, "You're not happy with this lineup? There will be many guests." He did not indicate that Mick Jagger could be one of them.

Tickets, which start at $75 and go way up from there, will be available starting Monday on ticketmaster.com. Proceeds go towards creating a permanent endowment.
