Alpine Skier Rok Perko Of Slovenia Leaves Downhill Training Run With Bloodied Face (PHOTOS)

Alpine skier Rok Perko of Slovenia was one of 10 racers who failed to finish the dangerous downhill course on Saturday, leaving his final training run with a bloodied face after a nasty fall.

Slovenia's Alpine director Dusan Blazic told the Associated Press that he doubts Perko will race in the medal event on Sunday and that he "might have broken nose." The 28-year-old was able to get to his feet and walk away.

Shortly after Perko's crash, French skier Brice Roger suffered a brutal injury to his right knee, including a broken bone and torn ligaments. His coach Patrice Morisod said it was simply a mistake and that "there was no problem with the course."

While Roger's coach didn't blame the course, veteran U.S. downhill star Bode Miller warned that the Rosa Khutor piste "could kill you."

"It's very treacherous," Miller said, per Reuters. "This course has teeth everywhere. The top is aggressive and speeds are so high and the turns are so swingy and bumpy that you can hook an edge anywhere."
