WASHINGTON -- On Sunday, many thousands of motorcyclists rode from the Pentagon to the National Mall, ending their 10-mile trip near the Lincoln Memorial.

2013 marks the 26th Rolling Thunder -- an annual rally that honors veterans and fallen soldiers, and raises awareness about prisoners of war and soldiers who are missing in action.

By some estimates, this year's event brought some 500,000 riders to the nation's capital.

In addition to Sunday's run, Rolling Thunder -- which started on Friday and lasts through Monday -- also involves a candlelight vigil, a First Amendment demonstration and an observance at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

“Nobody else loves America the way you love America,” Artie Muller, the event's founder -- and not a fan of Obamacare -- told riders in the Pentagon parking lot before the ride began, according to the Washington Times. “Our veterans, our clubs, veterans organization and the public are unbelievable.”
