'Romeo And Juliet' Trailer: 'Downton Abbey' Creator Takes On Shakespeare With Hailee Steinfeld (VIDEO)

'Downton Abbey' Creator Takes On Shakespeare

William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" is one of the most adapted plays of all time, but none of the other versions included so many of television's most favored names. For instance, this new version of "Romeo and Juliet" -- the trailer for which you can watch above -- stars Damian Lewis and Ed Westwick and was written by "Downton Abbey" creator Julian Fellowes.

Starring Douglas Booth and Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld as the star-crossed lovers of the title, Fellowes' take on "Romeo and Juliet" looks like many other takes on "Romeo and Juliet." It's all mannered and hallowed, even Westwick's wig. (He plays Tybalt, because of course he plays Tybalt.)

Carlo Carlei directed this version of "Romeo and Juliet," which is set for release in the U.K. on July 26. As of now, the film does not have U.S. distribution.
