Romney Campaign Ad Uses Hillary Clinton To Attack Obama

Romney Campaign Ad Invokes Hillary Clinton: 'Shame On You, Barack Obama'

The Romney campaign quietly launched a new TV ad in battleground states on Friday using old footage of Hillary Clinton to target President Barack Obama for "perpetuating falsehoods."

The 30-second spot, titled "Shame on You, Barack Obama," seeks to debunk the Obama campaign's series of ads attacking presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney over his outsourcing record.

As reported by Politico, the ad features a clip of Clinton campaigning in Ohio in the 2008 primary with then-Gov. Ted Strickland by her side.

Obama "also attacked Hillary Clinton with vicious lies," the narrator says in the ad, which then cuts to Clinton accusing Obama in 2008 of spending "millions of dollars perpetuating falsehoods."

When asked by The Huffington Post, a consultant for the Romney campaign refused to share specifics on which states the ad would hit. However, a search on tracking service TVEyes showed the ad is currently running in the following markets:

  • Charlotte, N.C.
  • Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Colorado Springs, Colo.
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Davenport, Iowa
  • Dayton, Ohio
  • Denver, Colo.
  • Des Moines, Iowa
  • Grand Junction, Colo.
  • Greenville, N.C.
  • Iowa City, Iowa
  • Las Vegas, Nev.
  • Manchester, N.H.
  • Raleigh, N.C.
  • Reno, Nev.
  • Richmond, Va.
  • Roanoke, Va.
  • Sioux City, Iowa
