Ross Marquand has been announced the newest addition to the cast of "The Walking Dead." The actor will join as a series regular sometime in the latter half of Season 5, which begins in February. The announcement leaves many viewers wondering two questions: (1) What character will this guy play? (2) Who is this guy? Read on for six key things to know.

1. He is speculated to play the "very prominent gay character from the comics" creator Robert Kirkman teased was coming back in December.
Though Marquand's role has not been announced, fans are theorizing that he will play Aaron, a gay character from the comics that many believe Kirkman was referring to with his comment. The creator mentioned the introduction of a new character in an episode of "The Talking Dead," while finally revealing Daryl Dixon's sexuality.

"Daryl Dixon is actually straight," he said. "But coming back in our next half of the season we are gonna be introducing a very prominent gay character from the comics that’ll be debuting."

2. He's had acclaimed performances in a variety of films.
The actor first proved himself with roles in films including "Woodshop," "A Lonely Place for Dying," and "The Congregation."

3. He has some serious comedy chops.
Though he's joining one of the most buzzed about dramas, Marquand has showcased his comedic skills -- particularly impressions -- in a bunch of YouTube videos. Below is viral Toasty TV video "House of Thrones" -- a "House of Cards" and "Game of Thrones" fusion -- in which the actor plays Frank Underwood. You can see more of Marquand's work at his website.

4. He is super good at voice acting.
Marquand played Han Solo on an episode of "Phineas and Ferb."

5. He balances his two sets of skills in original SoulPancake web series, "The Impression Guys."
In "The Impression Guys," Marquand plays a talented voice impressionist who embarks on a 12-step program to become a serious dramatic actor.

6. He played Paul Newman on "Mad Men"
In Mad Men Season 6 episode "The Flood," Paul Newman is famously the keynote speaker at an advertising awards dinner that the SCDP and CGP employees attend. Marquand plays that Paul Newman. STREET. CRED.

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 returns Feb. 8 at 9pm EST on AMC.
