Rubbery Japanese Lips Claim To Slim Your Face, Definitely Make You Look Stupid

Kinky Japanese Product Makes Outrageous Claim

Now you can exercise your face and look like a blow-up doll at the same time.

Japan Trend Shop is a web retailer that sells -- among other things -- a whole bunch of wacky health and beauty products that offer unconventional alternatives to plastic surgery. (More on those shortly.)

Among the weirdest is the "Face Slimmer Exercise Mouthpiece," a silicone rubber device that supposedly targets "sagging facial skin and muscles" by essentially providing a bit for the user to maw on like a teething child.

From the website:

Just three minutes per day is all you need; pop in the mold and then make mouth movements. The makers recommend you say vowel sounds out loud over and over again, producing regular and methodical exercises that will strength the twelve facial expression muscles in a comprehensive way.

Okay. But does it work? A reporter for the Daily Mail gave the lips a two-week trial. Although she reported subtle differences, including a "plumper and more toned" face, the supposed benefits of the fad product did not outweigh the fact that using it made her feel like a complete idiot.

"[It's] oversized sugar-pink lips... would be more at home in a horror movie than in a family bathroom... [It] makes me dribble unattractively."

For $85, it doesn't look like the Face Slimmer is worth it -- even for the sake of novelty. But Japan Trend Shop has other products that are even more dubious.

There's the electric boob-roller that promises to "stimulate breast growth and firmness" (special "bust cream" included):

And here's the "Face Trainer," a vibrating mouth plug that promises a non-surgical face-lift.
