Russell Brand Treats Homeless Group To Breakfast

Russell Brand Hosts Breakfast For The Homeless

Russell Brand may like to poke fun at others, but when it comes to helping people out, he's no joke.

The 37-year-old comedian was spotted helping out a group of homeless individuals who live near his home in West Hollywood yesterday morning, escorting them to breakfast at the Newsroom Cafe. That's right, instead of offering them money, Brand decided to give them a nice, fulfilling meal.

Funny enough, the "Get Him to the Greek" star helped out another homeless man in Los Angeles just two weeks ago, offering the shirtless fellow a white T-shirt and a drink of water. Reportedly, he even drove the man to an Alcoholics Anonymous class.

We sure do love a charitable celebrity!

Brand, who is a recovering alcoholic himself, struggled with drug use and attends weekly AA and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. He credits yoga and meditation for helping him get past his addictions.
