Aussie actor Russell Crowe was none too pleased when ClickHole quoted him as giving a nonsensical take on the differences between Australian and American drivers.

Crowe, who isn't exactly known for being the most light-hearted guy around, posted a tweet on Thursday afternoon voicing his displeasure over the quote.

Someone must have pulled the actor aside soon after and told him that ClickHole is a spinoff of the parody website The Onion -- and that the quotes by Crowe, Kanye West and Sufjan Stevens were just for yuks -- because the tweet was deleted moments later.

Still, Crowe shouldn't feel too embarrassed: Plenty of people have been duped by The Onion, including politicians, research institutes and foreign governments.
