A picture speaks a thousand words.

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick learned that the hard way when a Seattle Seahawks fan created an unflattering graphic earlier this season featuring photos drawn from Kaepernick's Instagram account:

The graphic, which was created earlier this season but is experiencing a resurgence in light of the upcoming NFC Championship game between the two teams, shows Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson visiting children in the hospital, playing with his dog, supporting Marines and attending charity events. The photos of Kaepernick, however, show him flexing his biceps, flaunting his shoe collection, riding in jets and posing shirtless. Ouch.

But not so fast, said the 49er faithful.

In a post titled "Ditch the Propaganda," a 49ers fan replaced the unflattering photos with other shots derived from Kaepernick's Instagram account that mirror Wilson's almost identically.

Indeed, a quick peruse of Kaepernick's Instagram account shows him cradling babies, hosting charity events, wishing his parents a happy anniversary and asking fans to pray for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson who lost his 2-year-old son in October, teaching us to take such fan graphics with a grain of salt.

More importantly, perhaps, the experiences teaches us not to judge one's character by one's Instagram account.
