Ryan Dunn Lawsuit: 'Jackass' Star's Estate Sued By Parents Of Dead Passenger (VIDEO)

Ryan Dunn Estate Sued

The estate of Ryan Dunn, the former star of "Jackass" who died in a car crash in 2011, is being sued by the parents of the passenger who also died in the high-speed accident.

TMZ reports the parents of Zachary Hartwell are suing Dunn's estate, claiming the reality star was extremely intoxicated when he crashed his Porsche in Pennsylvania in June 2011.

The 34-year-old reality star crashed the vehicle into a tree at around 2:30 a.m., and it burst into flames. Dunn was driving at 132 mph, according to Reuters. He and Hartwell "died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident," police reported at the time, according to the New York Post.

Hartwell's parents named both Dunn and the bar where he was drinking on the night of the accident in the lawsuit, NBC10 Philadelphia reports. Hartwell's parents claim Barnaby's of America in West Chester, Pa., exhibited negligence when serving excessive alcohol to Dunn.

However, the manager of Barnaby's told NBC10 that Dunn did not appear to be visibly drunk before he left.

The lawsuit also states that Dunn was both reckless and negligent.

Hartwell's parents are suing for unspecified damages, which include the funeral costs, the wages Zach would have earned in his lifetime and reparation for the "pre-impact fright, fear, pain and suffering," TMZ reports.

Dunn appeared in all three seasons of "Jackass" TV on MTV as well as all three movies. Hartwell was in the Navy and acted as a stunt car driver in Bam Margera's 2009 film, "Minghags."
