Ryan Gosling: George Clooney's Nickname, Hitting On Women

George Clooney liked Ryan Gosling enough to put him as the lead on the call list of his upcoming political drama, "The Ides of March," but actually calling out his name -- that's another story.

Gosling stars as a political consultant who holds a secret about his presidential candidate former employer -- played by Clooney -- that could sink his campaign. And as he told PopSugar, while Gosling had the future of Clooney's character in his hand, director Clooney was all about fun and games. And miming.

We can't quite print Clooney's nickname for Gosling, but it has nothing to do with it being inappropriate -- there's just no combination of letters in the English language that can accurately convey the monicker.

Also mentioned: just how awkward it was to hit on women in his latest film, "Crazy, Stupid, Love."

"The Ides of March" will open at the end of the month at the Venice Film Festival, and Gosling can next be seen in "Drive," the B-movie that garnered great reviews at Cannes.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story indicated that the film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Fest. The correct Festival is the Venice Film Festival.
