Ryan Murphy Barack Obama Fundraiser: 'Glee' Creator Hosting Expensive Dinner For President

Ryan Murphy Hosting An Obama Fundraiser Too

Ryan Murphy is getting in the George Clooney business. The "Glee" creator will host a lavish dinner to support President Barack Obama on June 6 -- the same night as the LGBT Leadership Council's gala, which takes place in Beverly Hills.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy will host the dinner with his fiancé, David Miller, at their home in Los Angeles.

The event is expected to provide a major financial windfall to the Obama campaign. Per THR, dinner will cost "$40,000 per couple or $25,000 for those attending on their own." In the wake of the president's support for same-sex marriage, the Murphy fête could bring in millions.

"Obviously, yesterday, we made some news," President Obama said during the Clooney-hosted event on Thursday. "But the truth is it was a logical extension of what America is supposed to be. It grew directly out of this difference in visions. Are we a country that includes everybody and gives everybody a shot and treats everybody fairly and is that going to make us stronger? Are we welcoming to immigrants? Are we welcoming to people who aren't like us -- does that make us stronger? I believe it does. So that's what's at stake."

Murphy -- who has been with Miller for over a decade -- certainly has a stake in the debate, both personally and professionally. He was engaged to marry Miller last year, and is the creator of a new Fox comedy called "The New Normal," which focuses on a same-sex couple. The sitcom stars "Book Of Mormon" lead Andrew Rannells and premieres in the fall.
