If a fear of flying has long held you back, then book a seat on the safest airline in the world.

Qantas Airways, Australia's biggest carrier, has been named the safest airline on Earth for the third year running in an annual analysis by Airlineratings.com.

The safety ratings site evaluated 407 international airlines on seven points including international certifications, in-air navigation systems and fatality-free records, producing a list of what they say are the 20 safest airlines in the world. And with a perfect score, Qantas topped the charts.

The Qantas on-board experience is known to be luxurious -- they once sat a koala in first class -- but also playful: The airline's in-flight videos truly "stretch" passengers' funny bones to the limit.

Not venturing Down Under (or to another Qantas hub) anytime soon? The rest of the top 20 safest airlines are, in alphabetical order: Air New Zealand, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airlines, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair, Hawaiian Airlines, Japan Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airline System, Singapore Airlines, Swiss, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia.

Happy travels!
