WATCH: Sam Champion Bids Farewell On 'GMA'

Wednesday was Sam Champion's last day on "Good Morning America."

The weatherman is leaving the show and ABC News for a new role at the Weather Channel. On Wednesday, his co-hosts and fellow ABCers paid tribute to him with goodbye messages and a lookback at some of his most memorable moments.

"We're sad to see you go. but we're so happy for you in this next chapter that you're embarking on, this great, new adventure," Robin Roberts told Champion.

"I've had the extreme joy that I don't think very many people will ever know of working with your friends and your family," Champion said. "This will always be my home."

Josh Elliot choked up while saying good-bye. Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan also wished Champion the best, and Champion's colleagues from WABC-NY — where he spent 18 years — were there to bid him farewell.
