This week marks a major milestone in the fight for marriage equality in the United States. On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments about Proposition 8 -- a ballot measure that bans same-sex marriage in the state of California. Then in a separate session on Wednesday, the nation's highest court will listen to arguments on a challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) -- a law that prevents legally married gay and lesbian couples from receiving the same federal tax breaks and benefits as straight couples.
Although it is unlikely that rulings in either case will come before June, here at HuffPost Weddings we believe it is never too early to show our support for same-sex marriage.
