Ignorance is bliss, Samuel. Ignorance is bliss.
Samuel L. Jackson visited "The Late Show with Seth Meyers" on Tuesday, and was made aware that the presidential hopeful probably won't be seeing "The Hateful Eight" anytime soon.
It all started with Jackson's comments on Trump in United Airlines’ Rhapsody magazine, where he painted a less than flattering picture of the Donald's behavior on the golf course, going so far as to imply that he cheats.
"I've golfed with him," Jackson explained to the magazine. "But it's funny -- last week or so, I actually got a bill from Trump National Golf Club, and I haven't been there in four or five years, so I had my assistant call. They said it was for membership dues. And I said, 'I'm not a member,' and they said, 'Yeah, you are -- you have a member number.' Apparently he'd made me a member of one of his golf clubs, and I didn't even know it!"
Jackson added that he was a better golfer because he doesn't cheat.
The feud quickly spilled into Twitter, with Trump claiming to have no knowledge of their relationship, saying the actor is "boring" because he "does too many TV commercials."
Jackson fired back with a tweet that has since been deleted, which reportedly included the bill he had received from Trump's New Jersey golf club.
“A bill from the guy that doesn’t know me & never golfed with me!" Jackson wrote. "I’m gonna Block his ass too!”
"Black-ish" star Anthony Anderson, who, according to Jackson, joined Trump and the actor for a game of golf, came to Jackson's defense.
Jackson told the late-night host that the only other person who could corroborate his story was former president Bill Clinton.
Meyers joked, "The one person that might not back you up in this story right now is Bill Clinton because I don't know if he's going to want to say a story that he was golfing with Donald Trump."
Considering how the two have been going head-to-head on the campaign trail recently, we agree that Clinton probably wouldn't be too keen on associating with the Donald. Looks like you're on your own, Samuel.
Can we please have a "Snakes on a Plane" sequel with Jackson and Trump, Hollywood? Can you even imagine?
"I've had it with these mothafuckin' politicians, on this mothafuckin' plane!"
All the awards.
