Sandro and Maje Open Up On Bleecker Street (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: European Invasion On Bleecker Street

Don't all New Yorkers wish they could do their holiday shopping in Paris? Instead of jumping on a jet, how about heading to the West Village where chic French brands Sandro and Maje have recently opened up neighboring locations.

This sunny Friday afternoon, we decided to check out the new boutiques, and see how the stores compare to their European counterparts. First up was the newly opened Sandro, a girly/preppy/cool brand which was founded in Paris in 1984. For their first store on this side of the Atlantic, the label selected a hot new strip of Bleecker Street, near neighbors Jimmy Choo and James Perse. What can you expect in Sandro's new store? Leather accents, collared shirts and to-die-for accessories (personally, I have my eye on a pair of black and white platform wedges).

Next, we headed over to Maje, which opened up earlier this month. While Sandro is fairly spacious, with different areas for womenswear and menswear, Maje is much more cozy. If one thing could define the style of the store, it would be that Danielle Steele's daughter, the ever stylish Vanessa Traina is face of the brand and has even collaborated on a collection: chic coats, mini skirts and evening dresses lined the racks of the store. My favorite part was the dressing rooms, which, though small, had beautiful mirrored doors. There was even a seating area with Maje-branded water for shoppers and their weary companions.

Before making the trip over to Bleecker Street, take a peek in our gallery below to see both Sandro's new store and some of our favorite pieces from both brands:
