'Sapore Dei Mobili' Project Creates Miniature Furniture From Waffle Iron

Hungry? Take A Bite Out Of Furniture

Who says waffles need to have a standard shape? Two intrepid designers, Ryosuke Fukusada and Rui Pereira, have reshaped the waffle iron. Gone are the horizontal and vertical lines and in their place are mini-furniture outlines such as a chair or lamp.

The project was meant to be a statement on the "velocity of the contemporary furniture industry and how consumers are unable to digest the huge amounts of new projects launched every year." And, technically speaking, the edible furniture pieces are not waffles but instead a fusion of Japanese and Portugese pastries.

This may have been a tongue-in-cheek project, but if it ever were to go on sale, we would totally purchase this.

Check out the photos, and learn more about the project at the Sapore Dei Mobili website.
