Sarah Jessica Parker Talks 'Girls,' 'Sex And The City' Comparisons

Sarah Jessica Parker: 'Girls' Is Very Different From 'Sex And The City'

As two HBO series set in New York City that are centered on four female friends, "Girls" and "Sex And The City" were bound to draw comparisons.

But according to "Sex And The City" star Sarah Jessica Parker, Hannah Horvath (Lena Dunham) doesn't have much in common with Carrie Bradshaw (Parker).

"It's a very different show," Parker told The Hollywood Reporter. "But the similarity is in the intimacy of the conversations among women."

Before the "Girls" premiere in April, Dunham opened up about comparisons between the two shows.

"I do think we are looking at a different time in women's lives and a slightly less glamorized New York," Dunham told People magazine of the grungy "Girls," which is set in Brooklyn. "Although it's for women, there is a divide between those two shows."

Season 2 of "Girls" premiers in January 2013.
