Audi took a different route this year for its Super Bowl commercial, creating a fake dog called the "Doberhuahua" in an effort to show why compromise is a bad thing.
The brand even enlisted singer Sarah McLachlan, who agreed to parody herself and her famous animal rights PSAs with a fake PSA calling on American to help the "misunderstood" Doberhuahua breed.
“Audi has conceived a never-before-seen creature to show the frightening consequences of bringing compromise into the world,” the car brand stated, according to JustJared.com.
Indeed, the tagline for Audi's new A3 model is "Designed without compromise." Again, the connection is that compromise can lead to failure, or perhaps a terrifying hybrid breed of dog with a huge head and tiny body.
The ad has received high marks online, with many viewers noting they actually might want a Doberhuahua. Whether this will result in higher Audi sales is unclear.
