Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. just keep giving us more reasons to fall in love with them.
This week, Gellar embarked on the popular (though somewhat polarizing) Love Your Spouse Challenge ― a social media challenge in which married couples share sweet photos, heartwarming sentiments and memories for seven days, and then nominate friends to do the same.
”I realize how much sadness and tragedy fills our lives these days, and I love the idea of filling up news feeds, and timelines etc with positive stories and messages of love,” Gellar wrote on Instagram to kick off day one.
For the next week, the “Buffy” actress posted the cutest snaps of her and her hubby, capturing moments throughout their relationship ― engagements, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries and kids.
And finally, on Day 7, she shared a collage of kisses and adoring gazes which she captioned: “William Shakespeare said it best, ‘I would not wish any companion in the world but you.’ It’s been really fun taking this journey. It’s amazing how a simple picture can bring back every emotion felt in a moment.”
Earlier this month, the parents of two celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.
As “perfect” as their relationship may seem on the outside, both Gellar and Prinze Jr. have been candid about the work it takes to make a marriage go the distance. When asked about the secret to a happy marriage in 2013, Gellar responded:
“God, if I knew, I would write a book and retire. I wouldn’t be here right now. I mean, it’s work. You have to work at anything. It’s any relationship in your life. You have to nurture it and take time with it.”
