Sarah Palin -- yes, that Sarah Palin -- has some nice things to say about Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Sort of.
The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate told "CBS Sunday Morning" that she appreciates the Vermont senator's candor.
"He really does remind me of one of my uncles. And you know, you hear that, that he's like the uncle who maybe lives in your attic and ... comes down once in awhile in order to entertain at a party," Palin said in the interview, which is set to air Sunday at 9 a.m. EST. "So, I get a kick out of him because he, too, is, he's candid, right?"
Palin also talked about her daughter Bristol, who announced she was pregnant with her second child shortly after calling off her planned wedding to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer in May.
"That was a bit of a climactic, 'oh doggone, what happened there' issue," Palin said. "The cool thing about putting your faith in God is, he certainly is a God of second chances, and third, and fourth and fifth chances. ... I screw up all the time."
While Palin hasn't endorsed a candidate in the GOP primary, she has said she'd be interested in serving as energy secretary in Donald Trump's cabinet should the outspoken business mogul make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
"I'd get rid of [the Energy Department]. And I'd let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their states," she told CNN's Jake Tapper in September. "If I were in charge of that, it would be a short-term job, but it would be ... really great to have someone who knows energy and is pro-responsible development to be in charge."
She's also offered praise for Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.
