Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has reportedly inked a deal to act as a judge in a new reality TV show that will air in 2017.
Palin is not a lawyer or a judge, and she did not attend law school, so it's unclear exactly what types of cases she would preside over. Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown, two of the best-known court figures on TV, are both actual judges.
Palin is working on a pilot with a Montana-based production company, according to People magazine, which first reported the show. The Huffington Post's message to Palin's agent was not immediately returned on Tuesday.
Despite her lack of legal bona fides, Palin's "telegenic personality, wide appeal and common sense wisdom make her a natural for this kind of format," a source told People.
The former vice presidential candidate has worked hard to remain in the spotlight since her 2008 season on the Republican presidential ticket led by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
Palin recently endorsed GOP front-runner Donald Trump. She planned to attend a major Trump rally in Florida earlier this month, but canceled in order to return to Alaska to care for her husband, Todd, after he was injured in a snowmobile accident.
