Saudi Restaurant Marmar Fines Diners For Not Finishing Plates

If your eyes are bigger than your stomach, you might want to steer clear of Marmar restaurant in Saudi Arabia. The restaurant has started charging diners if they order more than they can eat, reports

Some of Marmar's diners order food as a status symbol and don't finish it, which has frustrated restaurant owner Fahad Al Anezi. He calculates the fines based on the amount of food left over. Gulf News calls Anezi's move "unprecedented" but says it has been largely endorsed by the Saudis.

This isn't the first time a restaurant has charged for leftovers. A Hong Kong restaurant charges per ounce of leftovers and Wafu in Australia charges 30% more to diners that don't finish their plates. The chef also asks them not to return.
