Saudi Arabian Teens Rescue Child From Burning Building (VIDEO)

WATCH: Saudi Arabian Teens Climb Burning Building To Rescue Child

Here's the thing that amazes most people about firefighters: "How does someone run into a burning building when everyone else is doing everything they can to get out?"

So how incredible would it be for an average guy off the street, with no firefighting gear or experience, to scale a building engulfed in flames in order to pull a young boy to safety?

This two-minute video, originally aired by Kabar newspaper in May this year, according to Emirates 24/7 News, shows just such an act of heroism: Two Saudi Arabian teenagers in Jeddah climbing up to the second floor of a burning building after learning that an 11-year-old child is trapped inside.

The fire, says Rightthisminute.com, was started by a gas explosion. Eventually, the teens smashed open a window and dragged the young boy to safety. The child was then lowered to the ground with a ladder, according to Emirates 24/7.

King Abdullah, the Saudi Arabian monarch, awarded the teenagers approximately $266,667 (SAR 1 million) for their actions, reports Emirates 24/7.
