Tattoos have the ability to beautifully cover up scars, but scars can also be creatively incorporated into a design itself.

The 15 people below worked with artists to turn their scars into some epic artwork. Included on the list is Lena Dunham, who last month revealed her newest tattoo: A badass image of skateboarding legend Laura Thornhill Caswell riding her endometriosis scar.
