Scott Anetsberger, Illinois Man, Wins Lottery For The Second Time

Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize Twice In One Decade

A suburban Chicago man who won $1 million from the Illinois Lottery's "Merry Millionaire" instant game won the exact same amount -- in the same scratch-off game -- nine years ago.

Scott Anetsberger of Lombard, Ill. received a check for $1 million Tuesday, My Suburban Life reports. He told the paper he was "totally shocked" by winning twice in one decade.

“I won $1 million about nine years ago from the Merry Millionaire game,” Anetsberger told CBS Chicago.

Anetsberger will pay some bills and send his two younger children to college with the money, the Daily Herald reports. He bought the winning ticket from J&P Foods in Villa Park, which received a $6,000 bonus for selling it.

“He’s a regular at our store and we’re happy that he won,” store manager Pranav Patel told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Anetsberger isn't the only two-time Lottery winner in the area. The Chicago Tribune reports that Kimberly Pleticha of Villa Park won $1 million in an instant Cash Jackpot game in August of 2010, and won another $1 million six months later.
