Former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) is officially running for Senate in New Hampshire, WMUR reports.
Brown will face off against Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), who has recently called on Brown to sign a "People's Pledge" rejecting outside spending in the race. Brown, who has so far refused to sign a pledge in New Hampshire, signed a similar agreement when he ran against now-Senator Elizabeth Warren (D) in Massachusetts in 2012.
President Barack Obama has spoken out against Brown's ambitions in New Hampshire, saying the state already has "a great senator" in Shaheen.
"I'd be happy if Scott Brown wants to move down to Texas," Obama said in March. "You know, we could always use some moderate Republicans in other parts of the country. New Hampshire's already got it covered with a great senator."
