WATCH: Matthew A. Cherry's Short Film, 'This Time'

Black Voices Breakthrough Theater, part of our Screening Room experience, is a ten part series where our panel of curators present new, short films and web series created by emerging talent --both on screen and behind the camera.

This week's entry, “This Time” follows a recently returned Iraqi War Veteran, Kevin (played by Michael Moss), and his quest to win back his true love, Cheyenne (played by Reagan Gomez). After discovering that Cheyenne is currently engaged to successful a business man Kevin confronts her in an effort to reverse her choice.


MATTHEW A. CHERRY is a film and music video director and is also the co-founder and executive producer of Los Angeles based production company "Transparent Film Works." He is a former NFL wide receiver that played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens. He retired in 2007 and moved to LA to pursue a career in entertainment.
