Foul Ball Shatters Light Bulb At MLB Game

Hits were at a premium during the Red Sox-Rays 16-inning pitching duel last night, but thrills were not--just ask the fans sitting along the third base line.

In the top of the eight inning Rays third baseman Sean Rodriguez hit a sky-high fly ball that struck a light tower near the ceiling of Tropicana Field, which caused to be glass rained down on the field, sending fans and coaches alike running for cover.

The incident was one of many exciting moments on an evening that included two ejections, fifteen scoreless innings, and a walk-off single by Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia to win it all.
