Because Sauer's 182-square-foot abode has high ceilings (10 feet, 4 inches), he was able to create three different levels with eight unique spaces. He has a video lounge, cafe spot and even a Japanese soaking tub. He of course has all the other necessities like a bathroom, kitchen and bed. And though his mattress is a little too short, he seems quite happy with this space. "I like pushing the limit to see what I can do with the smallest kind of thing, I guess, in all ways. I guess being an engineer I like pushing efficiency -- kind of -- limits all over the place. It's just interesting to me."
