All those years during the taping of Seinfeld, in the middle of the workday, when everyone else on the set would break for lunch, Jerry Seinfeld disappeared for 20 minutes. He would sit alone, close his eyes, and well, let Seinfeld explain it. In the following, brief video, he's not only hilarious -- in top form as a stand-up comic -- he's also insightful and inspiring as he touches on the natural ability of human beings to rejuvenate themselves, overcome stress and unfold the clarity, energy and peace of mind that we all have within us.

Seinfeld speaks at a recent fundraising benefit in New York for the David Lynch Foundation, the fifth annual "Change Begins Within" gala -- this one in honor of veterans and first responders. He co-hosted the event with filmmaker David Lynch. All funds raised from the evening are helping provide Transcendental Meditation instruction to New York City veterans and first responders in need. Gala honorees included Hugh and Deborra-Lee Jackman (Lifetime of Giving Award) and NYC Fire Department Commissioner Salvatore Cassano (Lifetime of Service Award). The evening featured testimonies from servicemen and women who have taken up the practice of the TM technique -- and who described how meditation has helped them alleviate traumatic stress.
