Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have been an item for quite some time now, but chose to make their first red carpet appearance together at fashion’s most iconic night out, the Met Gala.
We can’t hep but admit they looked ridiculously cute together, and they certainly didn’t appear bothered by the fact that The Weeknd’s supermodel ex, Bella Hadid, was there.
The PDA-packed evening would not have been complete without an Instagram photo to really seal the deal. The Weeknd shared an adorable candid moment on his account, and it appears that Gomez’s mother left a sweet comment. A fan was quick to spot Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, write “Mama is happy” from her production company Instagram account, Kicked 2 The Curb Productions.
Nothing better than having parental approval! She even posted a photo of the happy couple on her own account.
Gomez also ran into famous photographer Brandon Stanton, also known as the guy behind Humans of New York, while at the gala. She reflected on the fleeting nature of fame and her career and said, “all of this was a privilege, and could be taken at any moment.”
It looks like the night was a blast overall and now that Gomez and The Weeknd are stepping out publicly as a couple, we’re excited to see where they’ll make their next red carpet appearance together.
