Woman In Bikini Takes 'Selfies 4 The Homeless' To Raise Funds For Vet Living On The Streets

Just when we thought the“Selfies with Homeless People” trend was on its way out, another similarly questionable photo stunt sprung up.

Tired of seeing pedestrians pass by homeless people at Venice Beach, YouTube prankster Dennis Roady Deeds elicited the help of a bikini-clad woman to get people to start paying attention.

The woman, attracting attention in shiny beachwear, spent an afternoon holding a sign that read: “Selfies 4 The Homeless” and offered to take photos with any willing passersby. Fans just had to pay a small fee, a donation to a homeless former Marine named Vincent who sat right nearby.

Each person walked away with a memento -- and hopefully an increased awareness about the vast number of veterans who don’t have a place to call home. On one night in January, there were 49,933 homeless veterans in the U.S., which is actually a 33 percent decline since 2010, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“A lot of people just ignore the homeless, walk past them,” Deeds said at the outset of the video. “Let’s see if they can ignore this.”
