When it comes to comforting her mom, this kid’s already aces.

In a “No Filter” podcast clip posted for Mamamia on Sunday, tennis star Serena Williams recounted how her 1-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia, reacted to her emotional defeat to Naomi Osaka in the U.S. Open final recently.

The match took a controversial turn when Williams had multiple confrontations with a chair umpire and was eventually docked a full game.

Williams, distraught, met up with her family afterward.

“I got in the car, and Olympia was in the car,” she told host Mia Freedman (beginning at the 1:25 mark in the audio below). “It was so weird. She started giving me kisses; she never gives me kisses. She doesn’t even know to give kisses ... and she just grabbed me.”

“This little baby is so smart,” she added.

And, of course, Alexis Olympia’s consoling kisses worked like a charm.

“It’s just hard to be too down ... when you have someone to take care of,” Williams said. ”... It puts everything in perspective.”

Williams chairs the board of advisers for HuffPost’s parent company, Oath.
