At the death, Sergio Ramos gave Real Madrid new life.

With Atletico Madrid leading its intra-city rival 1-0 in the 93rd minute of the Champions League final, the 28-year-old Spaniard scored the equalizer on a corner kick by heading the ball past Atletico goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Ramos rose to meet the cross from teammate Luka Modric and deftly nodded the ball inside the far post. The last-gasp score sent the all-Madrid affair into extra time at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal.

"It's the most important goal I've ever scored," Ramos would later tell reporters. "We made history against a great rival."

Ramos' teammates would make sure the goal will long be remembered in Madrid by breaking through for three goals in the second 15-minute period of extra time en route to a thrilling 4-1 win.
