Sermons on Being Happy

Happiness is not outside of you, it is not found in the things you do, the things you have or who you think you need to be. Embrace the now, slip into your consciousness and be one with the moment, be the moment.

Happiness is not found in a future endeavor, a belonging, a position, a person or the right conditions. Happiness is here and now. It is available to everybody. There is no magic formula to tap into happiness. There is not an 'out here,' 'one day,' 'someday,' that so many people centre their happiness on. Happiness is here and now. That's it, period. There is no sugar coating the truth.

What prevents us from being happy now is not what is happening to us, what we have or who we are. It comes down to our state of mind, and our state of mind is based upon our level of consciousness.

When you are unconscious, living in the future, stressed about what you need to do tomorrow, next week or where you should be one year form now you create a friction between where you are and where you want to be. Of course, our fantasies, dreams and visions are normal, but the trouble is that most people hold onto them so tight and when they don't get them right now they feel they haven't lived up to their dream, their vision.

But the reality is that our visions and dreams are just signposts, not absolute paths and our energy changes. (That's a tweetable) So what may excite you now, what you find pleasure in now may be the pain of tomorrow. There is no need to dwell on our visions everyday, and replay what we want. We simply need to understand what we want, with faith that we will get to where we need to be, and trust in the process. This means not worrying, not creating, not living in the future but being here and now. We must choose our days wisely, for they are limited and follow our excitement here and now. The vision will manifest when we hand it over, detach, have faith and do what excites you now.

When we release the future we are able to step into the present, because we do not need to forward think.

We can always go backwards and think, dwell and mull over our past, which is what so many people do. However our mind never paints an accurate analysis of the path, it is always tainted through our emotions, stories, ego and concepts. The remembering of the past is no more accurate than the visioning of your future.

Happiness can not be found in any other moment than now, because like time, happiness is fleeting, if you try and remember it, you'll only be limited to a definition which is not solely accurate. If you try and project the future into this moment you'll only find friction because you're mind is always wanting to resolve the gap, to close the bridge between where you are and where you want to be.

Happiness is not outside of you, it is not found in the things you do, the things you have or who you think you need to be. Embrace the now, slip into your consciousness and be one with the moment, be the moment.

Happiness is found here, and now, in this moment, with intense presence. Be here, now, simply.
