Seth Meyers has a simple message for senior Democrats when it comes to Donald Trump: “Stay out of it.”
The “Late Night with Seth Meyers” host said it just wasn’t worth President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton mentioning the GOP presidential candidate’s latest antics.
“Obama, Hillary, don’t comment on Trump right now,” the comedian said Wednesday. “Stay out of it.”
“Trump is digging his own grave, don’t grab the shovel, let him keep digging until the hole is too deep to climb out of,” he added. “Stay out of it.”
Obama said this week that the businessman was “unfit to serve” as president and asked Republicans why they were still endorsing him despite frequently condemning Trump for making offensive remarks. Clinton said in June that Trump was “temperamentally unfit” to be commander in chief and called his foreign policy “dangerously incoherent.
But Meyers urged Democrats to leave any commentary on Trump to senior Republicans. He also offered up some helpful, and hilarious, tips for Clinton during the presidential debates.
