Despite the racist, anti-immigrant and sexist rhetoric of Trump’s presidential campaign, the “Late Night” host revealed Monday how he was ready to give the 70-year-old reality TV star a chance to “surprise us” by changing his ways.
“Well, we gave him a chance,” Meyers said. “Bye chance, thank you for stopping by. Good to see you, chance.”
Meyers highlighted how Bannon’s ultra-conservative website was “adored by white nationalists” and urged people not to lazily dub Bannon as just “controversial.”
“He’s not controversial,” explained Meyers. “He’s a white nationalist and an anti-Semite. Don’t talk about him like he’s pineapple on pizza.”
Watch Meyers unload on Bannon and Trump’s other possible cabinet picks in the monologue above.
