Seth Meyers Warns Donald Trump: Stop Plagiarizing 'Saturday Night Live' Bits

"When you start stealing bits from 'Weekend Update' anchors, it is on!"

For Seth Meyers, President Donald Trump has finally gone too far.

On Thursday’s “Late Night,” the host joked that he didn’t actually mind when Trump “talked dirty with Billy Bush” or told Russia to “hack” his 2016 Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton’s emails.

What he did take serious issue with, however, was Trump “stealing bits” from the “Weekend Update” segment on “Saturday Night Live.”

In a bid to prove his point, Meyers referenced Trump’s bizarre interview with Time magazine this week.

The president’s response to a question that “I guess I can’t be doing so badly, because I’m president, and you’re not” sounded suspiciously familiar ― like Chevy Chase’s recurring “SNL” gag line. Then Meyers highlighted at least one other time that Trump appeared to take his cue from the show.
