'Shameless' Renewed By Showtime Along With 'House Of Lies' And 'Californication'

Showtime Renews Three Hit Comedies

"'Californication,' 'House of Lies,' and 'Shameless' possess highly distinctive comedic voices, and given that all three continue to grow their audience season after season -- the pick-up decision was easy," Showtime's President of Entertainment David Nevins said in a statement. "I am incredibly excited to see what each of these series has in store for their next seasons."

According to Showtime, all three comedies' ratings are exceeding those of their previous seasons. "Shameless" Season 3 is up 22 percent in total viewers (an average of 5.4 million); "House of Lies" is bringing in an average of 3.2 million viewers weekly, a 10 percent increase from its debut season; and "Californication" Season 6 is up 21 percent from its fifth season, averaging 3.1 viewers in its current season.

William H. Macy, who plays drunk patriarch Frank Gallagher on "Shameless," recently told Zap2It: "I had no idea I would love doing a series as much as I have loved this. I love getting to revisit the character. I love Frank ... I just find him so refreshing and so optimistic and hardworking, and I love his take on the world."

Production for the new seasons of "Shameless," "House of Lies" and "Californication" will kick off in Los Angeles later this year.

"Shameless" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. EST, "House of Lies" airs at 10 p.m. EST and "Californication" airs at 10:30 p.m. EST on Showtime.
