Shannen Doherty Shares Moving Instagram Amid Breast Cancer Battle

After having one of the hardest days in her fight against breast cancer, Shannen Doherty posted an emotional photo on Instagram Monday thanking her closest supporters.

“Thank you to these three who helped me thru an impossibly tough day and continue to be there every minute supporting and loving me,” the “90210” actress wrote under a picture where she’s standing with two friends and her mother with her newly shaved head. “I love you.”

The actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015 and confirmed the news in August of the same year.

Doherty documented shaving her head in six moving black-and-white photographs last week. Each step showed the difficult process of letting go and cutting her hair, and the last picture revealed part of her shaved head.

“I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life,” Doherty said in an exclusive statement to People when she revealed her cancer diagnosis. “I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.”
