This Pup's For You: Brewery Decorates Cans With Pictures Of Shelter Dogs

The dogs also made an appearance at "Yappy Hour" at the Florida brewery where the new beer was unveiled.

A beer company has slapped the mugs of shelter dogs on its cans and now everyone is making a big brew-haha about it.

Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton, Florida, issued a special doggy four-pack of its Cruiser Kölsch beer, featuring the faces of fidos from the Manatee County Animal Shelter.

The beer was unveiled at a recent “Yappy Hour” event that also raised money for the shelter. The now-celebrity dogs made an appearance at the shindig, along with other “puppers” who were up for adoption, the brewery’s Facebook post noted.

Two of the beer-can dogs — Morton and King — were adopted on the spot, marketing director Barry Elwonger told USA Today. Candy and DayDay were still looking for homes as of Thursday.

“The response so far has just been incredibly overwhelming,” Elwonger added. “The community is just in love with the project, as are we. The outreach has just been fantastic. We’ve been over the moon the last couple of days.”

The brewery hosts a “Yappy Hour” once a month. “Bring your best friend — four legs or two,” Elwonger said on CBS affiliate WFLA-3 TV.
