Sh*t Republicans Say About Immigrants: Courage Campaign Launches Website Of GOP Remarks

Definitive Guide To Eyebrow-Raising GOP Immigration Remarks Unveiled

As Congress continues to debate if and when immigration reform can be reached, a California-based progressive group has compiled some of the Republican Party's more eyebrow-raising remarks on the issue.

The Courage Campaign has launched "Sh*t Republicans Say About Immigrants" -- a rolodex of comments by members of the GOP.

Additionally, the group pointed Thursday tweets at some of the lawmakers to make the cut. Among the faces: Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who turned some heads with his June words about "illegal aliens" invading his office, and Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), who referred to Latinos as "wetbacks" in a late March radio interview.

Comments of that nature by Young, King and others have come alongside bipartisan efforts to push forward comprehensive immigration reform. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) met Thursday with President Barack Obama on the issue, continuing to stand as a lead face within the bipartisan Senate "Gang of Eight." Former President George W. Bush also pleaded for a "positive resolution" on Wednesday, highlighting "the contributions immigrants make to our country."
