'Shoes' Musical At Peacock Theatre In London (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Shoes' Musical On Now At Peacock Theatre In London

Musical theatre can often be an acquired taste. From Chicago to Legally Blonde: The Musical and from Showboat to Phantom of the Opera, plays in which characters spontaneously erupt into song just aren't for everyone. There's one musical on now in London, though, that no woman (nor their more confident male counterparts) can resist - Shoes.

Innovative for a few reasons, Shoes takes a decidedly dry, British approach to the humor of high heels by respecting them as the religious experience they are. Mark Smith, one of the show's choreographers, is deaf and has created a spectacular combination of sign language and dance choreography, called sign-dance, featured in the show. The numbers are fantastical and tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at things like the basic message women send when they wear high heels: "I got a really great ass!"

Here's a must-watch video from the theatre's website. Shoes is playing at the Peacock Theatre in London from February 8 - April 3, 2011.
